Trusting God …even when you don’t feel like it

“God wants us to learn to trust Him completely – even when we can’t see any possible solutions.” – Chuck Smith

“From the end of the earth, I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I.” – PSALM 61:2 (NKJV)

There are times when we are so hard pressed with stress, unresolved issues and responsibilities that we can become emotionally drained and exhausted. It is good to know at times like these we can Trust God in spite of our feelings! He is not limited to our emotions or our circumstances.

In fact, He is closer than we realize. Psalm 18:2 describes God as our source of strength in difficult times…”The Lord is my Rock and my Fortress and my Strength, and my Deliverer, my God my Strength , in whom I trust, my Shield, and the horn of my Salvation, my Stronghold.”
The key for us is to turn to Him, seek Him and His guidance, talk to Him in prayer. As we do this we become more focused on Him than bogged down in our own self- pity. Corrie Ten Boom, a great Christian leader and writer who survived the death camps during Word War 2, said this: “Look around and be distressed, look inside and be depressed, look to Jesus and all is at rest.” May we learn from Corrie, to Trust God…even when when we don’t feel like it…

JBear, thanks, I needed this reminder. In the last three months or so, as you know, I’ve had to deal with a lot stress, unresolved isues and responsibilities with my wife’s aunt that left me emotionally drained and exhausted on some days. I really liked what Corrie Ten Boom said, “Look around and be depressed, look inside and be depressed, look to Jesus and all is at rest.” Rex
